Happy Monday! Thanks for dropping by! Jennifer & Dami are on the blog today! I first officially met Jennifer at her sisters wedding that i shot last year. Fast forward a few months later Jennifer contacted me that she was getting married! I was thrilled and happy for her. Dami is a great guy and i actually know his older sister. It’s interesting how small the world can be. The shoot was fun and unique (Just how i like it 🙂 ). One cool thing Jennifer mentioned is their love for cooking so the Kitchen scene was perfect. Congrats on your engagement guys. Looking forward to your special day. The shoot took place at the beautiful Yancey House. Check out the story on how it all started and some images from the day. Enjoy!

How it all Started

I first knew of Dami years ago (probably in our pre-teen years), when my sisters and I would frequently sleep over at our cousin’s house and attend their church, CAC Bethel. Over the years, we just knew of each other’s families, ended up at the same functions and had numerous mutual friends. Fast forward to the Fall of 2011, I just started nursing school in Americus, GA and Dami just started medical school in Atlanta, GA. I was in a new city and starting a new chapter of my life. Because of that, dating was the last thing on my mind. Prior to meeting Dami, I had reached a point in my life where my spirit was longing for a deeper and more personal relationship with my Heavenly Father. I chose to grow in my faith and rededicate my life to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I remember always praying and telling God, “Let your will be done!” Not only His will concerning my future career, but also my future partner. Then on September 20, 2011, Dami sent me a message on Facebook saying “wow you’ve grown, I definitely didn’t recognize you at all.”

We chatted briefly, catching up on our school programs and about the small town schools we attended but then I told him I needed to study and would chat with him later. He then boldly asked me for my number. I gave him my number thinking the chance of this conversation continuing was slim to none because my T-Mobile cell phone at the time did not have service in Americus, GA. It was so bad I was barely able to keep in contact with my family and friends. It was semi-isolating but mostly annoying. The next day while I was in class, my phone rang. Mind you, my cell phone never worked in Americus GA and it definitely never worked in that particular class. It was a number I did not recognize. Don’t judge me, but I answered my phone in class because it was a miracle! Plus, I hadn’t heard my phone ring in a long time lol. The voice on the other end said, “Hey, it’s me, Dami.” All I could do was smile and told him I would call him back after class. When class ended, I drove out of the campus to call him back and we began skyping, writing emails and using all means of communication possible to talk. What I loved most about Dami was his boldness, his commitment to anything he set his mind to and most importantly, his God fearing spirit. We would often study, pray and encourage each other. Our friendship was beautiful; we were so different but yet so alike.

Hello Friends! Thank you for dropping by. Excited to share Anita & Anand’s Engagement session on the blog.  Last year i shot a surprise proposal for a couple and Anita was one of the guests that came for the surprise. I was so happy she thought of me when she got engaged!  Anita and Anad are a very laid back and fun couple. They enjoy taking walks at Piedmont park and hanging out at their favorite coffee shop Starbucks. We wanted the session to be all about them and feel as authentic as possible. I had a great time not only taking their pictures but also getting to know them better. Congrats on your engagement guys! Check out some images from the day. Enjoy.

So we go waaaay back… way before any of us even had marriage on our radar.  So i am thrilled that i get to be a part of her day. Shade Relocated to DC so we had the option of shooting in DC or ATL . I am glad we chose DC. There is something special about the Capitol! I met Folarin on the day of the shoot. He picked me up from the Airport so we got to chat about all sorts of topics and most importantly i got to know him more 🙂 . He is such a cool guy and i am happy he is making my good friend Shade happy!  For the shoot we started off at the National Gallery of Art DC then we ended the shoot at Union Station. Hello! Thank you so much for swinging by. Today i have Eghosa & Eyituoyo gracing the blog! This was an amazing shoot. We had soo much fun. The horses were so gentle and very camera ready! Most importantly i could feel the love between Eghosa & Eyituoyo. Such an amazing couple. I am really looking forward to their upcoming wedding! Check out some images from the shoot and a little about the couple below. Enjoy! Special thanks to Dennis of Adopt-a-Horse for taking good care of us.

Our Story:
Once upon a time…… 🙂 well, our story is a testimony! We grew up together. We would randomly see each other at parties and knew ourselves to be close family friends. We both saw something in each other and had nothing but respect for each other. As we grew individually, our relationship became closer, not knowing that we would be here today. God has been so good to us. Many trials and tests, but thank God that He is our foundation. We love spending quality time with each other, going to movies, spas, shopping, and surprising each other. We love being there for people and supporting in any way possible. If there is one thing that we would like to highlight about ourselves, that is the grace of God is sufficient, and as he has been there for us and knowing that He will continually be our rock; we encourage you to call upon Him in every situation.
We look forward to sharing more with you on our wedding day! 🙂
God Bless you!
Proposal story:
It was Tuoyo’s 30th birthday, I told him that I would plan a birthday party for him; the only thing he had to do was show up. I remember telling him this about 6 months before his birthday. Planning his birthday party was very exciting for me, because I knew this was going to be his first party. The day of his party came after months of planning and I was so excited, looking forward to seeing him have a wonderful night as he celebrated his 30th. I had different entertainments planned for the day, with a few disappointments the day off, I was still optimistic that he would have a wonderful time. While the party was going on, I realized many distractions, I was called to the kitchen, then to the car, and then someone else called me to go over the program. During this time, I heard the MC calling my name on the microphone, as I walked up, I saw Tuoyo standing in the middle of rose petals shaped in a heart with candles surrounding the heart. And he asked me to step into the heart with him. He asked my sisters and his sisters to come up as well, he thanked me for everything and handed me a box, I remember everyone hailing and asking me to open the box, as I opened the box, it was an ipad and on the back was engraved, Eghosa P. Asoro, will you marry me? I turned around to look at tuoyo and he was on his knee. I think after that, I spaced out; I can not really remember what happened after that, I was overwhelmed with joy. I could not believe what just happened at the moment. Just when I thought I was going to make his 30th birthday one to remember, he made it about us! I am truly grateful to have this man in my life, I am looking forward to out future. God has a plan! 🙂

Hello friends! Sorry for the break in blog posts. Spring is in the air so its a busy time of the year. Good weather translates to time to take pictures..lol. I have a simple love shoot to share today. It’s not an engagement shoot  and it is not a wedding but a celebration of love. Alisha & Elijah are having a private court wedding but still wanted some good pictures to celebrate their union so they contacted me to do a shoot. I just wanted the pictures to showcase their love for each other. It was simple, fun and personal. I truly enjoyed this session. I wish you both the very best. Congrats! Hello friends! Thank you so much for dropping by. I have a beautiful wedding to share today featuring Ashley and Phillip! I first met Ashley back in 2011 when she was a bridesmaid at wedding i shot. I remember her  telling me that when she gets married i will be her wedding photographer. I told her i would love to and we laughed it off. Fast forward 3 years later i received a phone call from Ashley!  To say i was excited would be a huge understatement. This is one of the many reasons i love being a wedding photographer. I truly enjoyed working with this couple. Phillip is a really fun guy and i had a blast during the Engagement shoot  (Check out the essence feature) so i knew the wedding would be amazing. Ashley and Phillip had a midday wedding so the day started very early. Something about this early wedding was just so refreshing and everyone was full of energy. It was a beautiful day and i am so glad i was part of it all. The wedding took place at Ashton Gardens. Check out some images from the day!
