Hello everyone! I hope you had a great weekend. I have a lovely E-session on the blog today featuring Ayanna & Anthony. They both went to Georgia Southern University. If you’ve followed my blog for a while you’ve probably noticed I’ve shoot sooooo many GSU alums. Ayanna & Anthony actually know a few of my past GSU clients. Shout out to the GSU alums out there! You guys are always so lively and fun. For this shoot the couple wanted a blend of casual, city and architectural so we chose a few venues that matched the criteria.  I met Ayanna and Anthony for the first time during the shoot and we hit it off instantly. They are both really cool people to hang with making the shoot effortless. When it comes to doing shoots you really don’t know what to expect and in this shoot there were no dull moments. Truly looking forward to their wedding later in the year. Check out some images from the shoot and their story below. Enjoy!

How they met

After four years of attending Georgia Southern University and living in the same city, it was an unplanned meeting at La Parilla Mexican Restaurant that introduced Anthony to Ayanna.
After a long day at work, Ayanna was invited by her co-worker to join a group of her friends for casual Mexican dinner and fun night out. Normally, Ayanna would have chosen to head home and curl up with a good book, but something in the back of her mind urged her to “live a little.” It also doesn’t hurt that her favorite food is Mexican.
Ayanna arrived at the restaurant and searched for her party but didn’t see anyone she knew. She did however, recognize two familiar faces at the bar that she couldn’t place. Unbeknownst to her, she was staring her future husband in the face. Anthony was sitting at the bar with his best friend when Ayanna walked in. When he saw her he thought to himself “She’s Gorgeous”. Eventually, their mutual friends arrived and the two were introduced for the first time.
Following their first encounter, Anthony and Ayanna bumped into each other at two separate events in less than a weeks’ time. Anthony being a big believer in fate, made his move during their third encounter and asked Ayanna for a date and her phone number. Luckily, each of their previous encounters had given Ayanna a glimpse into Anthony’s genuine and caring nature so she happily agreed.
Anthony hoping to show Ayanna a great time selected upscale Italian restaurant, Pricci for their first date. His restaurant choice was the perfect icebreaker because neither of them were huge fans of the fancy cuisine. That night conversation flowed and sparks flew! At the end of the night, Anthony asked Ayanna, “When can I see you again?” and he continued to ask at the end of every date until he finally asked her to be his wife.
It was truly destined for their two paths to cross. And, they both agree that this match could only be the work of God and his angels.

The proposal

After spending the entire week driving all over Georgia (Ayanna was on a business trip in D.C. and had no clue) to speak with Ayanna’s family in-person to ask for her hand. Anthony set his proposal plan in motion.
Because he planned to propose in their new home, he enlisted the help of her best friend to keep her distracted all day while he prepared.
Later that afternoon, Anthony rescued Ayanna from a long day of shopping and the two went for a romantic dinner in Virginia Highlands. After a night of great food and reminiscing the two headed home.
Upon arrival, Ayanna noticed a pumpkin by the door and was so excited and completely distracted because she was ready to start carving. But, with a little urging Anthony finally convinced her to leave the pumpkin and head inside. Once inside Ayanna heard Beyoncé 1+1 blaring and walked upstairs to beautiful candles, rose petals and huge bouquets all over the room. Shocked Ayanna still had no clue what was happening until Anthony dropped to his knee and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. She replied by screaming and crying yes over and over again.
Afterwards he sat her down to watch a compilation of congratulatory video messages from both of their families and close friends. It was the most special and happiest night of their lives thus far!

Hello friends! Happy Monday. I am excited to have a super cool friend on the blog today! I’ve know Dupe (I call her Helen 🙂 ) for over 10 years and she is such a cool and down to earth person. I remember all the fun times we had at parties in Atlanta. Great memories. When she contacted me about her wedding I was so happy for her. I met Ope for the first time during the shoot and he is definitely the right guy for her. They make a great team and I love that. We had so much fun. Congrats once again. I am looking forward to the big day. For the shoot we just wanted to have great time. We played some golf and went around the beautiful city of Atlanta. Check out some of the images from shoot. Hello folks. TGIF. Chrystol & Jason are on the blog today! Chrystol first saw my images on Instagram and noticed she knew a bunch of people that I’ve previously worked with. I am really glad she found me because I now get to be a part of her big day!  Chrystol is from Jamaica and Jason is from Guyana. They both love the city so we incorporated that into the shoot. I love the vibrant feel of the shoot which is what caribbeans are all about. This shoot was really fun and I had a great time. Congrats guys!! The shoot took place at the Glenn Hotel Sky lounge & Underground Atlanta. Check out their story below. Enjoy!

How it all started:

While Jason was out hanging with the boys, I was still contemplating going out for a night out on the town with my sisters. After much debate I agreed to go “paint the town red” and honestly that was the best decision I made. We landed at a party that Jason and his friends where at as well. Unbeknownst to me Jason watched me the entire night from across the room and finally worked up the courage to come and say something to me. Jason came over to me grabbed my hand and said “You are sooooooo beautiful and I could not take my eyes off of you the entire night”. We talked, danced, laughed and danced some more until 7am.
The night came to an end and it was time to leave. Jason offered to walk me to the car and i declined half way to the car, after all this is New York and they have some crazy people. Jason asked me for my number but his phone had died, he said “give it to me anyway, i will remember it” and i did. Surprisingly the next day i received a call from him and we talked everyday for about 2 weeks before I agreed to go on our first date.
We would go on a date about 2 times a week. We went everywhere from Six Flags, to horseback riding, to Medieval times, to comedy shows. It was great and from there we decided to make it official December 2010.
After that it was all history ……

The Proposal:

Chrystol’s Interpretation:

My sisters, friends and my family decided we would go on a vacation the week of August 17-26th. I begged and begged Jason to come along, but he refused each time. He told me we where going to go on a 2nd vacation when I got back, so I left the situation alone…….
Now it is August 17th, 2013, Jason brought us to the airport we said our Goodbye’s and “I love you’s”(he recorded the entire thing btw). I was so sad to leave him behind but I was looking forward to going away when i got back.
So we arrived in Puerto Rico, I called Jason we talked for a little and I went to sleep. The next day I talked to Jason on the phone some more before boarding the ship because I knew I would not get to talk to him until the following day (Aug. 19).
Fast forward to “The Day”. It is August 21st, 2013, this day is also our 3 year anniversary, we (my family and friends) arrived in Barbados and trying to decide what we should do. The group finally decided what we will be doing in Barbados and that was go to a beach “The Boatyard” because they had everything to do. I was sad at first because i tried calling him to say happy Anniversary but my phone would not work, so I used my mom’s phone to call him but no answer. We finally arrived to the beach, where we were informed they had free Wi-Fi. I was ecstatic, I called him again, still no answer and I left a message this time. I figured he will call me back so we went snorkeling in the mean time. We were out in the water for about an hour and a half. When we got back everyone was just lounging around and swimming and being carefree in that BEAUTIFUL water. It just so happened that all of us got out of the water at the same time and that is when A’Dale said ” the guy over there said he would give us some Jetskis for 10 min for FREE.” We were all so excited we started running over there. I was searching for the guy and asking Adale where is the guy and that is when………..GASP…………… I heard someone say “BABY”, (AHHHHHH) I turned around and I see Jason Anthony Warde walking towards me. OMG!!!!!! I thought I was about to pass out, lol………
At this point I was bawling and screaming like a baby, he came over to me, hugged me and proceeded to tell me that he caught a flight 2 hours after ours, he had been hiding on the ship for the past 3 days and how he could have never missed this anniversary and so much more other things. By this point I am bawling so loud I couldn’t hear anything else he was saying…lol. Then he dropped to one knee, took out “THE BOX”, he professed his love for me and his intent for us and I said YESSSSSSSSSSS, of course after my minor faint, and he put my BEAUTIFUL RING ON. I was feeling so overwhelmed with emotions. The day I been dreaming and waiting for is here and I felt like I was having an outer body experience but it was well worth it. My baby did a EXCELLENT job and I am so proud of him for that.

Hello Everyone! Ashley and Phillip are on the blog today! Ashley was a bridesmaid at wedding I shot in Savannah a few years ago (Angela & Patrick‘s Wedding – Thanks guys 🙂 ). I remember Ashley vividly because she actually told me that when she finds that “special” guy (Phillip actually found her..lol) ) she would love for me to shoot her wedding. We laughed about it but that conversation was imprinted in my mind.  Years later she reached out to me about being engaged!  I was very happy for her and even happier when she asked me to shoot her wedding! I love when my new clients come directly from old clients. It is definitely a huge blessing. For the shoot Ashley and Phillip wanted a traditional, fun and modern feel. So we came up with a bunch of sites/looks that would fit that profile. The results were great and we all had an amazing time. I am a big believer that E-sessions should showcase the couple in their true element and this shoot was no exception. I can’t wait to be a part of Ashley and Phillip’s wedding in a few months. Congrats guys! The shoot took place at the Atlanta History Center and Atlantic Station. Check out the story and how it all started below. Enjoy!

Phillip and Ashley met at a local Atlanta restaurant while out with friends for lunch. Ashley and her friends had just left a bridal appointment in the area helping a friend shop for the perfect wedding dress. The girls were hungry and decided to stop by El Aztec for a bite to eat afterwards. It happened to be Cinco de Mayo and Phillip and his friends were at the same restaurant celebrating the holiday.
Shortly after their arrival Phillip noticed Ashley walk in with her group of friends. He watched her for some time, waiting for his opportunity to say hello. After the girls ordered their food , they decided to hit the dance floor. If you know Ashley at all, you know she was more than happy to stay behind and hold the table. Seeing that Ashley was all alone Phillip walked over, sat down, and introduced himself. The two hit it off instantly and talked for over an hour at the table. As she was preparing to leave the two exchanged numbers.
They kept in touch over the next few weeks and Phillip eventually invited Ashley over for a Memorial Day cookout. After agreeing to come, Ashley began to have second thoughts about this “stranger” she had met and bailed on the cookout. Communication between the two dwindled down and they both went their respective ways.
Fast forward a year later. Cinco de Mayo was quickly approaching bringing thoughts of Ashley back to the forefront of Phillip’s mind. On a whim, he decided to reach out to her. The two met for a first date at Strip in Atlantic Station the very next day after church. Despite a whole year having passed, the two picked right back up where they had left off…sitting and talking for over four hours!! Within a month they began dating exclusively and the rest was history!!

TGIF! I love all weddings. Big or small it simply does not matter. However, there is something about shooting a small wedding that is quite refreshing. The focus is mainly on the couple and the love they have for each other. Emerald and Rajash had an intimate ceremony with a few friends/family to witness. It was all about love on this one. I enjoyed every second of it. The ceremony took place at the Atlanta Botanical Garden in the Japanese Garden. Check out some images from the day!

Hello Friends! Happy hump day :). Today, I am extremely excited to share the E- session pictures of a really good and long time friend Busola AKA Tidy-up Gal. I’ve known Busola for over a decade (12 years to be exact) and when I look back at many memories in my life over the years I realize she was always there. I remember how we all used to party together (WE-3-ENT days for those that remember) and now we are all grown. She is truly a great friend and I am so happy she found that “REAL LOVE”..LOL haha. I met Lanre a few years ago at a friends house and he seemed like a really cool guy. He was funny and down to earth. Who knew he would fall in love with my friend! Busola and Lanre met at a local Starbucks for their first date so we incorporated that into the shoot and had a blast in the process. We also hit up the Fox theatre for some grown and sexy shots. The love they share for each other was too obvious. I really enjoyed this shoot. I wish you both a blessed and happy married life. Enjoy!

New Year’s Eve 2012 was different than usual for both Lanre and Busola as they met at a local Starbucks for their first date. In fact, the meeting was almost two years overdue – Yewande, Lanre’s family friend (and also Busola’s friend), tried to introduce them way before they finally met. But perfect timing, they say, is one of God’s greatest gifts. They hit it off right away as predicted; and almost a year after that special New Year’s Eve, Lanre popped the big question at Busola’s favorite Thai restaurant. They plan to tie the knot on June 14 2014, and are looking forward to a bright future together.

“I have found the one whom my soul loves.”
